PERSONALITY
Shane likes to think of himself as a simple boy. In all honesty, he’s not nearly as complex as most of the people on this tour. For better or worse, he is a total sweetheart. Being his friend is the easiest thing you’ll ever do in life. No matter what you look like or what you’ve done in your past, you’re a clean slate to Shane. Of course he has little patience for those who sleep around, are arrogant, consistently use drugs and alcohol…and make it who they are. If it’s all just for a good time then it’s easily forgiven in his book.
Being an enemy is a hard thing to accomplish; you pretty much have to try. Shane is a good and most of all a true friend. He’s the guy you call at one in the morning to vent to, or snuggle with on a cold evening – without any sexual context, and the one who you can tell all your secrets to and joke about them with. His friends consist of equal numbers of guys and girls because he’s such a laid back and fun guy. With Shane you get no bullshit, he is completely honest and open. Honesty is the best policy.
When it comes to actually dating, Shane is a commitment kind of guy. Sleeping around or just hook ups are a big no-no, of course with room for exceptions. If you want to date Shane, you are going to be his girlfriend and he will be your loyal boyfriend or the deal is off.
Shane finds beauty in simplicity. Everything with him is easy and chill. You can always find him playing or writing music, taking photos, or napping. Life to him is something to enjoy and take advantage of. The glass is half full, not half empty. Music is a huge passion of his. He has mastered over seven instruments including the keyboard / piano, guitar, drums, bass, harmonica, violin, and cello. Shane is very dedicated to his music and will not let anything get in his way.
Drugs, alcohol, and smoking are things he really frowns upon. While he doesn’t let them get in the way of his friendships Shane is completely straight-edge. To have a good time all you need are your friends.
While he is an outgoing boy, sometimes, and only occasionally do you need to crack through a shy exterior. It is only there at the very beginning and only when he thinks you’re super cute. After you get to know him it goes away and stays away. But just a heads up…blushing might equal he likes you. This goes for both guys and girls. Shane is not necessarily proud of his bisexuality but he isn’t afraid of it. While he wouldn’t dare tell his father and it’s not something you can tell just by looking at him, he doesn’t hide it.

HISTORY
It seems like everyone on the tour comes from some completely screwed up past. It’s not the case with Shane…to an extent. He was born August 20th, 1989 to Ashlyn and Landon Bailey in Honolulu, Hawaii. Growing up on the big island was any kid’s dream come true. His parents were loving, fun, and active, always participating in his school activities. Landon, his father, was an architect for a major firm earning a fairly large annual salary while Ashlyn, his mother, was a nutritionist. They lived in a large home on the beach where Shane learned how to surf. So Shane grew up an active, healthy, and happy kid. When he was seven, his little brother, Craten Alexander Bailey was born. About two years after he was born doctors found that he has leukemia, or cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Luckily with the Baileys’ relatively high income they were able to give him good treatment which has kept him alive to this day. Being only nine at the time of the diagnosis, Shane was very stressed by this, but he fought through the tough times with his parents. It was really at this point where he turned a lot to music. He found comfort in listening, playing, and writing it. At first he took up the piano, then the guitar, drums, and just continued learning as much as he could about all aspects of music. He mastered each instrument very quickly between school and hospital visits. Once in middle school he also found a love for photography. Between music and photography he was able to once again see the bright side to life like he had before his brother had gotten ill. Finally his brother seemed to be getting better after the aggressive treatment plan they had taken and things seemed to be getting better. Then one day after returning home from school early due to some electrical problems they couldn’t overcome he found his mother in bed with another man without them seeing him. Naturally, being only in eighth grade, he kept this to himself and hoped the problem would solve itself. Never again did he catch her again but still the love affair continued until a year later when Landon caught them. Ashlyn and Landon immediately got a divorce. The court gave custody of both Craten and Shane to Ashlyn who also got the house in Honolulu. Landon moved to Anaheim, California where he got an even higher paying job at a different architecture firm. Shane felt such guilt for not just being open with his father earlier. He blamed the whole situation on himself but told no one. Once again he only found refuge in his music and photography. Hollywood Whores then began to form and he knew that music was his true calling and he would make it into his career if it killed him. His mother knew something was bothering him and sent him to a therapist. That along with music and photography eventually brought him out of his depression. Shane began to split his time between his father and mother’s houses and practicing with his new band. Once again, the fun and loving life old Shane returned and has continued to this day.

ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE
If he closed his eyes maybe he could picture himself far far away from reality. Maybe back home surfing a ten footer right outside his house, or sitting in his personal music room his parents had given to him for his thirteenth birthday, even going for a five mile run with his mom. Yet even when Shane tried his hardest, the clean hospital smell lingered as a reminder in the back of his head. With his eyes shut and his mind trying to convince him he was back in Honolulu Shane could still hear the murmurs coming from the other room. He’s asleep now. We have every reason to believe the treatment is going as planned. I will let you know as soon as he wakes up. Footsteps got louder and then faded away down the hall, and the voices were gone. Shane, honey? His mother, Ashlyn’s, angelic voice rang as she put a hand on his stiff shoulder. Your brother is going to be out for a while, how about we go get a cup of coffee? Oh coffee, his family lived off of it whenever Craten was in the hospital. Shane opened his bright blue eyes and nodded, not finding the courage to speak knowing his little brother was across the hall unconscious. Outside the California air was warm, even in the dead of winter, just like Hawaii. Shane pulled his sweater on even though the sixty degree weather didn’t really call for it. Whenever his brother got really sick they flew from Honolulu to Sacramento to give Craten the best care the US offers for leukemia treatment. Shane didn’t mind. He enjoyed traveling, especially knowing his little brother was more comfortable here then he would be at the small hospital on the big island. Without a word he walked to the small coffee house just a block down the street with his two parents leading the way. They knew how tough it was on their eldest son, having his little brother in and out of the hospital. Both would lend their moral support continuously but Shane would shrug them off. The only comfort he found was in his music and photography, with the frequent cup of joe. Just a black coffee for me. Shane mumbled to the woman behind the counter. Only now with his eyelids drooping he realized how much he actually needed the caffeine. The clock read midnight, but time meant nothing anymore. Sleep would only be had if there was nothing else to do. Here you go sweety, it looks like you need this. The woman said as she handed him a big cup of coffee. Shane just smiled and began to take large sips of the bitter drink. It offered a temporary energy rush that he knew would only end in him five times more tired than before. Why don’t you head back to the hospital Tray? Landon, his father asked, using his childhood nick name. No, I want to be here when he wakes up. Shane replied defiantly. Craten had just undergone a huge treatment and there was no way he was going to miss being there when he finally woke up.
