LUCIANA HARLOW LEWIS

NAME lucy, luce, ana, lou, harley - if you know her well enough to know her middle name
AGE nineteen
GENDER female
SEXUALITY heterosexual, aside from drunken playfulness
ON TOUR WITH riot in me
AS THEIR lead guitarist
LOOKS LIKE alexi le trash
LIKES hair dye, nail polish, performing, playing guitar, music in general, acoustic songs, piercings, tattoos, high heels, leopard print, metal, sleeping, kisses, living in the moment, adrenaline, compliments, lip rings, good books of any genre, shopping, singing, video games, ice cream, staying up late watching movies, watching fights, baseball, fireworks, sitting on roofs, social smoking, old school rap, her older brothers, family in general, slang, swearing, small shows, nostalgia, writing, twitter, venting, inside jokes, old friends, trust, pin up models, motorcycles, hearing old stories, traditions, newbury street, boston in general, dancing with the crew during other sets, helping roadies, tour parties, zombies, reading stupid tabloids
DISLIKES extremely hot weather, bad hair days, over thinking, intimidation, feeling left out, being overlooked, having to help drunks, having little self confidence, lying, guilt, nerves, feeling awkward, spousal abuse, animal abuse, assholes, being lied to, not being able to trust someone, paranoia, gossip, stupid high school drama, pointless rumors, cat fights, tough acts, strict rules, religion, bad table manners, burping, overreactions, feeling used, being fucked over
FEARS that she’ll end up completely useless, and like her mother. that one of her brothers will end up in jail. that the band will break up, and she’ll be hated. being totally alone and hated by those she cares about. dying without having achieved something worthwhile. being wiped out in a genocide. her own thoughts, most of the time. car accidents.
STRENGTHS she’s got a good sense of humor, and doesn’t usually judge people, just accepts them as they are, and thus usually makes friends easily. she’s musical, and catches on to just about any instrument you try to teach her. she can hold her own in a fight or argument. she’s very good with kids.
WEAKNESSES she sucks at any kinds of sports, period. she’s short, so, reaching things isn’t on the top of her list, either. it’s very easy to embarrass her, or make her feel like she isn’t wanted somewhere. she loves knowing everything that’s going on, even if she won’t repeat it, not knowing something irks her. she has a tendency to believe that people don’t actually like her, or want her around, despite being friendly to her.
GOALS when tour is over, she wants to get her own apartment, and a dog. she also wants to get the courage to see a therapist to help her figure out why she’s so negative about herself, and help her when she falls into her little depressed, antisocial moods, because it freaks her out.
SECRETS despite trying to come off as very confident and acting casual about her friends, she’s very, very insecure and would break down if she lost certain people close to her. she doesn’t want to admit it, but she really, honestly hates her mother -and she feels like shit for that. and she’s petrified of hardcore drugs, and would never do anything besides pot, even if that makes her a pansy.
PERSONALITY
HAPPY Lucy is definitely, for the most part, a happy girl. It isn’t always even caused by something that will make her happy, she can simply look at one thing in a positive light, and be in a good mood for the rest of the day. She gets excited over little things easily, like a good show, or even a compliment. Making plans for stuff is big on her list, because then she’ll have something to look forward to. She doesn’t need extravagance to please her, either. It’s more so little things and gestures that most other people would overlook that really get to her. She’s pretty much always nice to people when she first meets them, and tries to make others comfortable before herself, so sometimes, yes, the happiness is fake, but it’s hard to tell with her. It’s rare to see her without a smile if it’s a good day, and being on tour especially, she loves goofing around. Her little green scooter is pretty much her baby, and water balloons are her specialty.
COMBATANT This is definitely the more surprising aspect of her personality. Most people definitely do not expect Lucy to be as stubborn as she is. Most would never expect her to be as willing to argue and fight, they would figure such a sweet girl would more try to avoid fights and arguments, but this is definitely not true with Luciana. Growing up, Lucy was always around examples showing her that fighting was normal. Now, it’s not to say that she’s a bully, because she would never be a bitch unprovoked, but if she feels threatened, or if someone fucks with her first, she doesn’t fight like a girl, oh no, she throws punches. Her brothers taught her to fight growing up, so pulling hair and scratching were never in the equation. Her knuckles can do some damage for such a tiny girl. Really though, anyone who needs to know this, does, and who would bother such a nice girl, anyway?
SADISTIC? For some reason, most likely because of how she was raised, Lucy loves watching people fight. It completely fascinates her. It’s raw, and animalistic, and sometimes, yeah, it’s sexy. Watching someone just completely go uninhibited, especially if it’s for a good reason, completely enthralls her. She loves watching boxing and all the UFC stuff, for no other reason than she loves seeing how people can completely transform themselves into machines and harness such power. The other aspect, is that she loves watching arguments, or being in them herself. She doesn’t like the fact that someone will get mad at her, no doubt, or that she’s being yelled at, but she hates seeing people let themselves get stepped on, and she has a backbone, so she won’t let herself be walked all over. Simple as that.
DOUBTFUL Isn’t it classic? The happy go lucky kid is actually riddled with self-doubt? Well, having a mother come home every night drunk, rarely even speak to you, and a stepfather who would rather yell at you than hold a conversation can do that to ones psyche. The majority of her effort put into any kind of relationship, friendly or otherwise, stems from the fact that Luciana really does doubt that people ever like her, at all. She feels more like a burden than company a lot of the time, and dwelling on it, although destructive, is something she can’t help. It isn’t al the time, of course, there are times, a lot of the time actually, where she simply indulges, haves fun, and doesn’t care about what the outside world thinks of her, but it falters, and she’s left alone with her pessimistic thoughts.
LOVING This is where her personality reverts back to the sweet young lady that people like to be around. Lucy is affectionate and loving to no end. If you’re her friend, you’ll be compliment and loved on until you can’t take it anymore. She hugs like there’s no tomorrow, and prefers physical contact over being untouched. Any and all small acts of kindness, she loves. The only time this is a problem, however, is when her cuddling and affection is taken the wrong way, and people start thinking she’s a slut. It happens more than you would think. Girls who don’t know her, and see her cuddling or hugging with their boyfriends tend not to approve of how she works, and more often than not, her need for love gets her into trouble.

HISTORY
The Lewis household was never quiet. Or rather, the O’Reilly household was never a quiet one. Gabrielle Lewis had to raise her three children, Oliver, Jackson, and Lucy with her new husband, after leaving her first husband when her daughter was only three. The two had fought constantly, and Gabby filed for divorce, much to her children’s discontent. As furious as Kenneth was, he agreed, as long as the two shared custody. However, at the trial, Gabby threw out allegations left and right that he would abuse her and the children, and was an alcoholic, most of which were not true. He did drink maybe a bit too much. She, however, was not much better, and was normally the instigator in their arguments, and would come home late at night after work, and her ‘after work drink’ or two, or seven. Regardless, a flawed system and a mother with lots of money for a good lawyer ended with Gabrielle getting her way, and her children. Distraught, and knowing that his ex-wife would make his life hell, Ken moved to Seattle, Washington with an old friend to get himself back on his feet after all the money that woman sucked out of him. She really ruined his life back then.
Only a three months after the divorce, Gabby began dating Patrick O’Reilly, a usual at the bar she worked at, and a friend from high school. He was a handsome Irishman with a taste for whiskey and football, and she was a desperate divorcee with three kids and a selfish streak. Not even a year later, the pair were married and living in South Boston in a three bedroom apartment. The new relationship didn’t help the environment that the children were exposed to. At four years old, one of Lucy’s favorite words was fuck. Patrick and Gabrielle fought just as often as she and Kenny had, only they made things worse by being not so discreet with how they made up. Her sons began to loathe their stepfather, and were constantly calling their dad and complaining, only to get yelled at by their mom.
Growing up in Boston, however, was an experience Lucy wouldn’t trade for the world. When her brother would go play in the neighborhood, she would demand to tag along, and they would let her. They were typical kids, chasing the ice cream truck down the street, pretending to be ninjas and trying to scale the walls. Lucy loved watching her brothers and other boys in the neighborhood play baseball or football, but she loved watching them fight even more. She couldn’t express her admiration or gratitude when they would stand up for her against anyone who picked on her. On her eighth birthday, a boy who lived a few blocks away from them showed up at her birthday party, one of her more favorite memories of her family, and popped her balloon, right in her hand, and told her that her little plastic tiara her aunt gave her was stupid. Brokenhearted, she wouldn’t speak to anyone for a good half hour, until her brothers got it out of her, and they, along with her cousins (who once more, were mostly boys) went after him. They gave him a black eye and chased him all the way back to his house, Lucy trying to keep up, her little purple party dress slowing her down.
Middle school was when the Lewis kids started getting more into music. The boys started hanging with older kids who played instruments and smoked cigarettes. On rare occasion, Lucy would have to stay home with Patrick, and the only thing she enjoyed was listening to everything from the Misfits, to Elvis Presley, which she had always enjoyed, but began to appreciate and become hooked on more. Her teachers gave her odd looks when she was one of the few girls wearing Metallica and Pantera shirts instead of pop groups and boy brands. When she was in seventh grade, her music teacher (who shared a similar music taste) suggested she take up some kind of musical instrument. She chose guitar, and begged her mother to get her lessons. Instead of paying, she had one of her friends from the bar give her lessons three days a week. As uncomfortable as it was, she was determined, and it began to pay off as she picked it up quickly.
Much to her obliviousness, her brother had also gotten their hands dirty in the music scene, and were also playing instruments, and before she was even in high school, she was going to their little gigs. They did whatever they could to spend as much time doing what they enjoyed, instead of being at home. If nights weren’t spent at friend’s houses, they were spent with pillows over their ears, or music blaring to block out either fighting, or other less desirable noises. Oliver had been a sophomore, Jackson a freshman, and Lucy had just graduated from eighth grade when Oli made the final call to their father and demanded he get custody of them, after having gotten into his own fight with Patrick when his mom couldn’t even stand she’d been hit so hard. Furious of not having been told what kind of state his children were living in, he called DSS and an investigation ensued. A few grueling months over the summer, and the state took Gabrielle’s children from her, and placed them in their fathers custody. She was lucky if she got a phone call twice a month from them after that.
Seattle, Washington was a completely new world to Lucy. She missed Boston, and the familiarity, and her friends. At first, she withdrew from her family, and kept to herself in the house, not opening up to the father she barely knew, or the few close friends of his that were passing through often. It wasn’t until she heard him playing the drums in their basement that the two began to bond over the one thing Luciana loved completely; music. The pair were so alike, and the father-daughter bond was instantaneous, and he just let her be herself. He let her pierce her nose and dye her hair, and the summer after her freshman year, she got a job working at the record store he owned. It was a dream come true, and she could barely believe her life had turned around for the better so much.
Her brother, however, were the same. They were over protective, and were still getting into fights in school for their little sister. She would roll her eyes, but she felt conflicted on whether to be proud of annoyed. She loved her brothers, of course, but teen angst, you know? Oliver began to get heavily into drugs in the music scene there. Lucy would join them at shows, but ever finding Oli after a set proved to be a challenge within itself. She hated how bad he was getting, and after many nights fearing for her life simply driving home with him, her biggest fear presented itself. When she was sixteen, he overdosed, but was revived, and sent to rehab. It didn’t help much, and as soon as he was out Lucy was back to worrying. Jack, however, learned from his brothers mistakes, and didn’t stray too much from marijuana. Lucy, of course, dabbled. It’s hard to resist temptation when one is surrounded by it.
Her senior year was when Lucy made friends with her soon to be band mates, and music once more brought a change for the better into her life. She quit her job at her father’s store as Riot in Me started, and ever since their first song, their first tour, their first successful album, she hasn’t looked back, and hasn’t regretted anything.
